About Sunset Design.

Welcome to Sunset Design! I’m Richard Constable, a web designer and visual developer based in Haywards Heath, West Sussex. Since founding Sunset Design in 2000, I’ve been dedicated to delivering creative web design services that help brands make a lasting impression. My focus is on blending thoughtful design with technical expertise to ensure every project is visually engaging and strategically effective.

History

A lot has changed since I first launched Sunset Design. My journey started in the late 1990s, hand-coding HTML and learning the foundations of web development. At the turn of the millennium, I partnered with Dr Stephen Khoo of Khoo Systems to build custom database-driven websites, embracing the early days of dynamic web technology. With the rise of website builders and the introduction of WordPress, the landscape continued to shift. In 2003, Stephen introduced iPages, which became the primary CMS for our clients for nearly two decades. As digital needs evolved, I began transitioning clients to modern CMS platforms like Shopify and Webflow to ensure their websites remained current and effective.

2000—Present

Sunset Design was launched, providing bespoke websites built on iPages, and more recently, transitioning to Shopify and Webflow. I also offered graphic design services in the early days.
