FAQs.
Have a question? Check out our FAQ section for answers to common inquiries.
1 / I don’t have a domain name. Where can I buy one from?
I recommend buying your domain from Fasthosts. Your custom domain name can then be connected to your website. Additional services, such as email, can also be added later.
2 / Can you help me set up my email?
Yes. If you have a custom domain, I can set up the email addresses you need. I’ll send you the account settings and a step-by-step setup guide so you can start using your new mailbox on your PC or mobile device.
3 / Will you need access to my domain for my new website?
Yes. I will need to configure your domain to point to your new website by adding some DNS records. If your domain is with Fasthosts, add me as a user, so I can configure it without needing your account login.
4 / I need help adding some more DNS records to my domain. Can you help?
Yes. If you need help with any other DNS configurations, such as third-party services or integrations (e.g., email or Shopify apps), I can help you.
5 / Do you offer hosting?
6 / Are you able to help update my new website?
Yes. Updating a new website can feel daunting. If you need help with your Shopify or Webflow website, I can send you a step-by-step guide so you can update it yourself – this is part of my service once your new site is live. If you prefer not to update any part of your site’s content, I can handle updates for you at my standard hourly rate.
7 / I need help with my Shopify store. How do I give you access?
I will request access to your Shopify store as a collaborator (Shopify Partner). I’ll need your collaborator access code and Shopify URL. Shopify’s help page on collaborator accounts has more details. I can guide you if needed.
8 / Do you offer Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?
I’m afraid I don’t offer SEO services beyond what is included in your site build. Your website will consist of many SEO features as standard, such as canonical tags, sitemap.xml, robots.txt, title tags, meta descriptions, optimised site structure and navigation, image alt text, Open Graph, and an SSL certificate. Your site will also be submitted to Google Search Console so it can be crawled and indexed. Additionally, when you supply website content, you should include, as a minimum, keywords relevant to your products, business, or services. All of these elements will help your site appear organically on Google’s search results. Both Shopify and Webflow offer many built-in SEO features that let you further optimise your content for free.
9 / Can you help with my WordPress or Wix website?
Unfortunately, my services do not include working with website builders such as Wix, Squarespace, WordPress, or WooCommerce, nor do I support updates for them. However, I can help if you are considering migrating from them to an alternative such as Webflow or Shopify. Please get in touch, and I will be happy to discuss your options and advise accordingly.
10 / I need a leaflet designed. Do you offer a graphic design service?
Yes. If I manage your website or email campaigns, I can usually provide complementary graphic design, like leaflets and flyers. Please get in touch to discuss.
11 / How much do your services cost?
My rate is £100 per hour. Website updates or maintenance are usually charged at an hourly rate, agreed upon before work begins.
If you’re considering a new website, please get in touch and provide as much detail as possible about your future project. I will then prepare a personalised proposal for you that includes a strategy, scope of work, and expected costs. You can always call me beforehand for an informal chat about your project if you prefer.
